Getting to know Dr. Shakeeb Hussain
I am a board-certified psychiatrist. I completed my medical training at the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, earning a Doctor of Medicine degree, followed by psychiatry training at the University of Alberta. I worked in Canada in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry before moving to the United States. I then practiced inpatient and outpatient psychiatry at Altru Health System in Grand Forks, ND, for several years before coming to New York, where I worked for several years at Northwell Health at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
I provide a holistic approach to my patients, whether that involves medication management or non-pharmacologic treatments in psychiatry.
I work with Clearwave Mental Health—a renowned group in the Hudson Valley with multiple psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and therapists. When working with me, you also have a team of clinicians with decades of experience in the Hudson Valley helping patients with mental health issues.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I provide a light and uplifting environment for patients. I hope to allow them to feel comfortable and confident in our discussions.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
We start with a 60minute initial consultation and then ongoing 30minute follow-ups.
