About Dr. Shane Scanlon
Family time is really important to me, whether it's traveling or just staying home to watch a movie. Even getting the chance to go for walks is something special. I found the thought of helping others to be attractive and fulfilling. I honestly believe our greatest purpose in life is to serve others, and I find it joyful. Family medicine allows me to serve all aspects of life. I address a wide variety of concerns and encourage preventative medicine while establishing life-long relationships with patients. When immediate relief is needed, I provide procedures and osteopathic manipulative treatments. I am thankful and humbled by the opportunity to support CURE International, a faith-based organization that offers restorative surgeries to children with correctible disabilities, bringing hope and healing to those who often had been cast out by their community. The impact these changes have in the lives of the children as well as their caregivers is awesome to see.
I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed my residency in Family Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Prior to medical school, I earned my bachelor's degree from City University of New York, Hunter College.
I really enjoy my time outdoors. I love to go fishing whenever I can. I enjoy hiking and working out at the gym or at home. I am always open to trying new things pertaining to my physical health. I love visiting the beach with family. Overall, I try to maintain a very active lifestyle with my wife and children and enjoy making memories with them. I also love to cook and am an adventurous eater. Another one of my greatest joys in life is my faith.
