Don’t go with shannelle, even when I told her why wouldn’t I wanna try a certain med she kinda just tells you you’re wrong, and just wanted to give me things that will give me worse side effects, and wanted to diagnose me with symptoms I experienced years ago.

Lacking compassion. Dismissive of what I have tried before, and felt like she was disrespectful towards my previous provider who I felt actually cared about me and listened to my needs. I felt like this doctor talked AT me rather than TO me, I didn’t appreciate the eye rolls, or her guilting me into saying I don’t have to take what I know has already worked for me in the past for years. It was only after the appointment, and me getting frustrated by her dismissing my previous history for an hour that she listened to my needs. I understand I may not be the best at relaying information, I have memory gaps as a side effect to my mental disability, and would expect grace from someone in the field.

She may be best suited for patients who are primarily seeking medication to manage symptoms. From my interaction, she came across as rather set in her ways and made assumptions without fully understanding the details of my situation. When I explained my workplace’s leave policies, she told me I would likely be fired on a technicality, even after I clarified that this hasn’t been the case at my location for years. I also sensed that she wasn’t particularly interested in helping me, and when I voiced that concern, I gave her the option to opt out entirely. Instead, she asked me to send over my workplace policies so she could review them and get back to me, but that follow-up never happened which left me feeling dismissed and uneasy. I understand that some people may have a positive experience with her, but she was not the right fit for me.

I’ve seen other health professionals who rush through appointments, making you feel like you’re just another patient in a revolving door; but that wasn’t the case with her.
She genuinely listened, asked the right questions, and took the time to understand what was really going on with me.
Instead of pushing a treatment on me, she laid out different options, and we worked together to come up with a plan that actually felt right for me.
I left feeling truly heard and validated, which made all the difference.
I highly recommend her to anyone who wants a provider that actually listens and makes you feel comfortable.
