With a background in mental health, correctional nursing, emergency, and progressive care, Shannon has worked with individuals across the lifespan supporting them through a variety of psychiatric diagnoses including personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. Shannon earned her Master's in Nursing from Walden University. She uses evidence-based practices to support each client's unique needs, with an emphasis on mindfulness, active listening, and cultural sensitivity. MEDICATION PRESCRIBING: Thriveworks providers do not prescribe opioid use disorder medications, weight-loss medications, injectable psychiatric medications, long-term benzodiazepines, or sleep medications, though these may be prescribed short-term for existing clients when clinically appropriate. Controlled substances, including ADHD stimulants, are available only in select states.
