About Dr. Shanthi Colaco

Dr. Shanthi Colaço is a board certified dermatologist offering patients a full range of medical and cosmetic dermatological care. She graduated with honors majoring in Molecular and Cell Biology and minoring in Music from the University of California, Berkeley. After completing a research year at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, Dr. Colaço earned her medical degree at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. This was followed by dermatology residency at Columbia University Medical Center in New York where she stayed on as volunteer clinical faculty, teaching residents and mentoring students. She practiced medical and cosmetic dermatology in Manhattan, prior to joining the staff at Kaiser West Los Angeles a few years later.
Dr. Colaço has trained with some of the most reputable and innovative dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons across the United States. She stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in dermatology to ensure that her patients are offered the most effective and sophisticated treatments available. Her dedication to academic dermatology and education is evidenced by her work that has been published in several reputable medical and surgical journals.
In her free time, Dr. Colaco enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, playing the piano and guitar, singing, traveling, cooking, and eating.

I arrived early but still had to wait a long time to be seen. I never saw the doctor I scheduled with originally, instead another doctor came in and said she would be the one helping me. She was good but did not at any point take a closer look at me to verify my concerns, just took my word for it and prescribed meds. I haven't been here in a long time, but I remember my appointments in the past with the doctor being pleasant, she took her time and I was able to talk freely about all my concerns, and feel listened to. I would not go back now.

Wonderful experience, entire staff was happy and kind. Office was clean, bright, and cheerful. Doctor was knowledgable and efficient. Would 100000% recommend to anyone looking. In a world of dismissive doctors, this office was a breath of fresh air.

Dr Shanti was pleasant, a tad late so she kindly acknowledged that and thanked me for waiting which I appreciated. She took a quick and painless biopsy which is healing well. Her PA took off skin tags quickly and efficiently and she had a very friendly bedside manner. Overall, great experience with this office so far!

Had an appointment with Dr. Colaco and was seen almost right away which is nice. I told her about what issues I was concerned about and she thoroughly explained everything, and put my worries to rest. Only complaint is that she can kind of talk over you when you’re asking a question/saying something. I don’t think she does it on purpose or maliciously based on how I perceived her as a person (she seems very nice) but just something to note. She gave off a very warm and welcoming attitude and I would definitely see her again.

Dr. Colaco and staff were all so pleasant and helpful, and the office is beautiful! I went in for an annual skin screening and plan to go back for any future derm needs – cosmetic included.
