Getting to know Sharon Nightengale

Ms. Sharon Nightengale is a licensed and board-certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She provides care both in-person and virtually at Uplift Aesthetics, Wellness, and Healing in Hattiesburg, MS. Ms. Nightengale earned her Bachelor’s degree from The University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s in Nursing Education from William Carey University, and completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
She diagnoses and treats a variety of common mental illnesses and emotional health issues. Ms. Nightengale listens carefully to each patient’s concerns and thoroughly explains their conditions. She collaborates with patients to build long-lasting, trustworthy partnerships aimed at maintaining and improving overall health.
Committed to staying current with advances in her field, Ms. Nightengale ensures her patients receive the most appropriate care. She is dedicated to helping the wider community access the care they deserve and works closely with each client to achieve and maintain optimal health and live their best life.
What should a new client know about working with you?
During the initial appointment, time will be spent on but not limited to a thorough assessment, medication reconciliation, review of systems, medical history and pertinent information. Focus will be placed on the chief complaint of presenting symptoms as well as the recommended treatment plan. Medication management is directed at improvement in symptoms and overall well-being. Therapy will be utilized as needed during appointments. My approach is for positive psychology while maintaining a therapeutic relationship.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Initial appointments for psychiatric evaluations will consist of a 60 minute appointment. During the appointment, information will be gathered with a recommended treatment plan. Typical treatment plans consist of therapy, medication management, and complementary therapies.
Follow-up appointments can be made after the initial consult to allow medication evaluation and management as well as continued therapy as needed.
The DSM V is utilized for the diagnostic process. Clients will be asked to provide UDS periodically to meet DEA requirements for safe practice.

I currently accept Cigna, Aetna and BCBS Massachusetts (virtual) insurance. Insurance information and credit card information should be uploaded to Headway profile for verification. Once verification is complete, an appointment will be scheduled and confirmed. Clients will be responsible for any copay at time of service. I accept cash or credit card payment for clients without insurance or insurances other than those accepted. Clients can file his or her insurance if desired.
