Dr. Sharonda Moore-Forehand, DNP, APN

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
103 Carnegie Ctr Dr, Ste 300, Princeton, NJ
I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I specialize in holistic, evidence-based care for adults facing mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related concerns, co-occurring substance use, and the emotional impact of medical and life stressors. In my current role as an Advanced Practice Nurse, I conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, provide ongoing follow-up care, and prescribe and manage psychotropic medications using evidence-based research. I also offer psychotherapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed approaches to help you develop insight and practical coping skills. My background includes extensive experience in inpatient psychiatry, dual diagnosis, eating disorders, and crisis triage, which allows me to respond thoughtfully when symptoms escalate and to coordinate care across different levels of treatment. I hold advanced degrees in nursing, counseling, and psychological studies, and maintain active membership in national nursing and psychiatric organizations. I hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner focus from Regis College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and earlier graduate degrees in Counseling and Psychological Studies. I am board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Registered Nurse in New Jersey. I am also an active member of several professional organizations, including DNPs of Color, the American Nurses Association, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
