About Dr. Shauna Higgins
Dr. Higgins was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She attended Brown University for her undergraduate education where she studied Human Biology and Business Economics while simultaneously studying Photography at the Rhode Island School of Design. She earned her MD from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, where, in addition to acquiring a number of academic honors, she served as Editor-In-Chief of The Beat Art and Literary Magazine showcasing the creativity of members of the UCLA health sciences community.
Dr. Higgins has completed several years of research both at the University of Southern California and the University of Nebraska Medical Center where she managed and conducted a number of epidemiological, clinical, and translational science research studies in melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, patient-related satisfaction outcomes, and complementary and alternative medicine.
She has authored dozens of publications, several book chapters, and has presented over 30 abstracts via poster or oral presentation. She completed her internal medicine training within the Yale-New Haven Health System and completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Southern California + LA County Hospitals residency program, where she also served as chief resident. She is passionate about holistic dermatology care.
Outside of work, Dr. Higgins loves music, travel, visual and performing arts, and trying new restaurants.

I booked an appointment with Dr. Higgins however I never met that day. My treatment was done with a Nurse Practitioner. I asked when I would see Dr. Higgins and the staff response was you are booked with Stephen the NP

I wish I could leave a review at all, but my appointment ended up being scheduled with a different provider. Dr. Higgins wasn’t in the office the day of my appointment. This is the second time I’ve tried to book with this doctor, but the names, times, and services don’t seem to match what appears on Zocdoc.
I wasn’t informed that I’d be seeing another provider until I was already in the examination room. There was no notice by text, call, or through their client portal. I made this appointment specifically for this provider, so after commuting for an hour, I chose to leave.
I’m not sure if this was an oversight or a tactic to use the credentials of the doctors on staff to route patients to nurse practitioners or physician assistants. Either way, there needs to be more clarity and transparency from the office.
I’ve only heard GREAT things about Dr. Higgins. I just wish I’d had the opportunity to leave a positive review for her.

Wow! Literally above and beyond treatment.The office is really chic and welcoming, and the staff are incredible. I went in to get a small bump on my leg looked at. I quickly seen, educated and assured my concern wasn't anything to worry about, and they even helped me by properly cleaning and sterilizing a small wound I had on the same leg from an incident I had earlier in the day. Super calming/reassuring the whole time and it was clear their number 1 priority was my health.

Love her. Obsessed with my visit. Can't wait for my acne to clear up but also drop by for my follow up. Parking isn't great given it's down town but now they have a cafe in the lobby of the building so more incentive to come! Outside of that everyone was fantastic per usual. Office was clean, wait times weren't the worst and the help I needed was given generously. She patiently listen to my monologue and was ready to find my solution. She also has beautiful skin. Anyways love her, happy I found her on ZocDoc.
