Well, I decided I was jumping to conclusions based on basically nothing and she had a psychiatrist she thought would work really well with me. I decided to hear her out and followed her advice and that is how Dr. Allison ended up with me ?? . He has been very great to me. I hope I don't get fired by him because he makes me feel like a human being. I even was able to admit my moat shameful secret, that I basically had not been totally honest with Dr. Laubach ( for fear of being treated differently or even dismissed/fired but I have to say she was great too and I was pretty upset she was leaving so soon- but I digress) and I decided to be honest with Dr. Allison since I felt so guilty being having, well, lied to Dr. L (my truthfulness changed some of my prior history answers and I know it was my red herring ..what gave away the fact I had not disclosed some information to my previous Doc, Dr. L. This info was and is vital to a doctor's ability to properly treat me and make sure I am safe). Anyway to make a long review longer, Dr. Allison didn't even bring up the fact I had hidden this info, (though it was obvious he knew and I did explain...i just didn't want to get humiliated or fired etc. Not only did Dr. Allison NOT treat me differently... No shaming, no firing..etc, he didn't even call me a liar or even TREAT me like one. (FYI tho we all lie, I try very hard to be honest and decent and hold myself accountable.. but he had just met me.) I couldn't believe it! I decided to stick with him and I am so glad I did. I just started back to University...it's online but I hope by next year to be going to campus. I feel like my real self a lot of the time and while I realized today I have quite a ways to go, I totally trust Dr. Allison and have hope for the future . Finally. Thank you Dr. Allison and to Dr. Karen Laubach for her foresight and caring. Oh, and both Lifestance offices I have been a patient at have had very kind front desk personnel, but I met Dr. Allison's today and she was so welcoming. That matters so thank you to her too. I highly recommend Lifestance. I've been dealing with psychiatric facilities and.counselors of every type for 27 years and this is the first one I actually look forward to. They even have telehealth, which I have definitely used so if getting out to therapy is hard for you try it that way! I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. As I will be if y'all read my novel here ??????”
