Shirley Xu, DNP, FNP-BC, is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in medical and cosmetic dermatology. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Buffalo State University and both her Master’s in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees from Columbia University.
Shirley sees patients for a variety of dermatology concerns, including but not limited to eczema, acne, rosacea, hair loss, and psoriasis, as well as aesthetic and procedural treatments. She is dedicated to providing individualized care and understands how dermatological conditions can affect one’s quality of life. Shirley is committed to helping her patients feel empowered and confident in their own skin. Passionate about skincare, she leverages her research background to stay current on skincare ingredients, treatments, and procedures.
Born and raised in New York City, Shirley is fluent in two dialects of Chinese. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her bunny Momo, biking, and traveling internationally.

I booked an appointment for a skin tag removal a few days prior. On the day of my appointment, I come in only to be told by the nurse that the doctor does not do that kind of procedure and that my appointment can be cancelled. This all could of been done over the phone before my appointment, why waste my time coming in?

One of a kind.. She addressed all of the dramatological issues that I had. Was patient and kind and thorough. Also very friendly, I just felt very comfortable with in her presence.
I even told her becuase every amazing doctor should know they are appreciated. You don't come across doctors that like often.

As long as you treat them like how you want to be treated, you'll receive amazing friendly service. Everyone was super kind and it felt like my smile was received and reciprocated back to me. There was barely a wait, and I even got to have short idle chat with some of the staff without bothering their work.
Information given to me was concise and sympathetic. The visit felt very in and out!

My experience was beyond my expectations, I've never done a skin screening before, and I immediately felt comfortable, attended and welcomed. Shirley Xu was extremely friendly and professional, well rounded and knowledged, was able to give recommendations, inform and educate me about things we went over during the screening. Would highly recommend to a friend, family member, or stranger.

The staff were professional and efficient. I was in and out in under 30 minutes. Dr.Shirley was highly knowledgeable and diagnosed me quickly. I took the medication prescribed to me and felt better within a few hours. Will be retuning in the future as a permanent patient.
