My path to addiction medicine was not a straight line – it was shaped by what I saw, what I felt, and what I knew had to change. I began my medical career in a hospital laboratory, where I developed a deep appreciation for the science behind patient care. But I quickly realized I needed to be closer to the people I was helping. That led me to the emergency room – one of medicine’s most demanding and eye-opening environments. It was there that everything shifted. Night after night I watched people in the grip of addiction arrive in crisis – often in pain, often afraid, and far too often treated without the dignity and compassion they deserved. I saw a system that responded to their physical emergency but left the deeper wound untreated. I knew I wanted to be part of changing that. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and my Master of Science in Nursing in 2017 and have dedicated my career to addiction medicine ever since. Over the years I have built extensive experience across both inpatient and outpatient settings, developing a clinical approach that is evidence-based, highly personalized, and rooted in genuine respect for every patient I work with.
