I completed my residency training at the University of Illinois, Chicago in Psychiatry with additional specialization in Neuropsychiatry. I gained interest to specialize in the field of Neurofeedback during a study at UIC and completed coursework in EEG Neurofeedback training recommended by the BCIA. My philosophy to patient treatment is to provide quality treatment in a caring manner from a holistic perspective. I offer comprehensive treatment through listening to the individual needs of the patient and their loved ones, thereby allowing the individual to make positive strides in their life. The most effective approach to treatment is one that is multidisciplinary. Neuropsychological testing, imaging, brain mapping coupled with novel approaches have yielded optimal results. EEG Neurofeedback addresses Neurophysiologic impairment in the brain. I believe that the patient’s functional issues must be addressed in order to change dysfunctional patterns or areas that may be otherwise ignored. Hence, therapy consists of individual and family therapy to address issues related to the family system and pivotal to recovery. Individual therapy often focuses on improving coping skills, social skills enhancement, play therapy, etc., based upon the one’s needs.
