Dr. Motamarry is a distinguished ophthalmologist with deep roots in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area, where he attended Poteet High School. Following his high school graduation, he selflessly served our nation in the U.S. Navy as a hospital corpsman, demonstrating his commitment to caring for others from an early age. His academic journey led him to the University of Mary Washington, where he earned a degree in Biology, and then further honed his medical expertise at Drexel University in Philadelphia. After completing his residency in ophthalmology at the prestigious University of Florida in 2012, Dr. Motamarry advanced his skills through a specialized Oculoplastic Fellowship in San Antonio from 2012 to 2013. He proudly holds board certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology, a testament to his dedication and proficiency in the field. Dr. Motamarry returned to the Dallas area in April 2015 and now joins Newman & Taub Vision Center on September 8, 2025. He currently also serves as the Vice Chairman of Ophthalmology at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas Hospital. Previously served as clinical adjunct faculty at UTSW from 2015 to 2024. Dr. Motamarry excels in cataract surgery, refractive lens exchange, orbital and facial cosmetic surgery, applying his expertise to repair and reconstruct facial trauma, treat skin cancers, and address conditions such as ptosis and orbital tumors. His comprehensive skill set also includes performing upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, tear drainage system procedures, and intricate eyelid reconstructions. Moreover, he offers advanced nonsurgical treatments for glaucoma, combining laser therapy and medical management to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
