“Too many calls on-line and via text to confirm my appointment.
And they called to request a referral from my Primary Care dr., which my insurance UHC doesn't require but the office staff insisted it was required because the Pulmonologist with Einstein Montefiore Advance Care was a Special Practice and needed it.
After my appointment, they said the Referral wasn't needed. One hand clearly doesn't know what the other hand is doing. It was very stressful for me and the office manager in my Primary Care doctor's office, who went in at 8am to send it to me online only to find out my UHC plan doesn't require it. ”

For a person of color, I would NOT recommend. He automatically assumed I was from the Bronx, with no indicator whatsoever. If we were in an office in the Bronx, that would be fair. But to automatically assume I’m from the person because I’m a woman of color? We were in the Elmsford area. I feel as though much of my answers were not answered until I asked repeatedly, some of which I did not get an answer. A lot of medical jargon was used with no explanation of what it meant or follow up. It just felt very condescending and like a waste of my time and money. An X-ray was offered twice, which he said more than once he doesn’t think is necessary but if I’d like to as a precaution which I did end up declining. The overall office and staff were clean, and very friendly. I went for a second opinion because I’ve had previous providers ignore symptoms; just for it to actually end up what I suspected it was. I’ve never experienced a micro aggression with a provider before and it was insulting.

Dr. Spivack is great! I really appreciate that he really listened to me and took the time to communicate. He really has a wonderful bedside manner and made some real suggestions and not just a bandaid of prescribing medications or a bunch of test. It has been frustrating not getting answers and Dr. Spivack and I think her name was Rosa, made me feel very comfortable.
