Hi there, I'm Sina!
My name is Sina Benedict, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, with 20+ years of health care experience I really know how people want their care delivered. I believe people do the best they can where they are. I pride myself on my highly engaged patient-centered approach. I am very straightforward while also using humor to navigate this thing we call life.
My approach
I believe in using the biopsychosocial theoretical framework to guide my care. By understanding a person's genetic framework, social factors, current and past home environment, medical history, relationships, current needs, and much more we can together come up with a well-rounded plan to promote success.
My focus
I have a deep passion for helping individuals overcome past trauma. Often mental health needs result from the body's adaption to overcome hardships faced in early childhood. Trauma can result in many different challenges as we age including depression, schizophrenia, bipolar, schizoaffective & personality disorders, PTSD, panic, anxiety, or ADHD to name a few.
My communication style
I have a very direct style while also using humor to navigate difficult conversations. To know you choose me to be vulnerable with while sharing hard conversations with is an honor I do not take lightly.
My journey to mental healthcare
I have worked in health care for over 20 years and have had the privilege to help others when they need it most. Whether a stoic veteran or a frail patient taking their last breathe each has taught me more than they will ever know about human compassion and the beauty of life. I value each experience and feel honored to have experiences that have shown me the indescribable depth of human life. Helping others has been the most rewarding aspect of my career. Everyone provides value to this thing we call life.
