Internist

People often ask, ?Dr. Y, how do you get all the energy and stamina to do all that you do?? My answer is, ?I believe stamina is 80 percent psychological and 20 percent physiological.? When you do what you are passionate about, you manage to get all the energy and stamina required. By nature, I am a passionate person and a people's person. I love talking to people, getting to know them, guiding them, and helping them. The philosophy behind ?Transformations with Y? is based on my own life journey and story of transformation. Growing up, I had many conflicts in my mind. I was a born artist with an interest in arts and philosophy, raised in Pakistan in a family with very high academic standards, which was a blessing. My mom strived to give her kids the highest education and was a major women empowerment figure, always telling us to stand on our own feet. My dad, a fascinating army officer, encouraged us with, ?Believe and you shall achieve.? I pursued medicine, earning my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Fatima Jinnah Medical University, then completed my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine. I also continued honing my skills as an artist and calligrapher. I was a shy child who struggled with low self-esteem, but my life transformed as I worked on my mindset and limiting beliefs. I believe the people you associate with play a big role in your quality of life. I was fortunate to be mentored by great thought leaders. I coauthored a book with Les Brown, an internationally recognized speaker and author in self-development, and another on entrepreneurship with Michael Tracy, with a foreword from Brian Tracy, a leader in business mastery. With these associations, I have immensely transformed myself in all aspects of life.
