About Sonia Francis
Sonia Francis is a Family Nurse Practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Credentialing, and licensed by the state of Georgia to provide family-centered health care to patients of all ages. Her scope of practice encompasses health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management of common and complex healthcare problems beginning in childhood and continuing throughout the aging process.
Sonia's extensive medical career began at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital in New York City, where she served as a Medical Assistant and later as a Registered Nurse in the hospital's OB/GYN clinic for 10 years. In search of a warmer climate, Sonia moved to Orlando, Florida, where she continued serving as a Registered Nurse in women's health at Winnie Palmer Hospital for another 10 years. With a longing to be closer to family, Sonia relocated to the Covington area in Georgia and continued her work as a Registered Nurse in the Labor & Delivery department at Northside Hospital.
Over her 20-plus years of nursing experience, Sonia pursued and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, all from Chamberlain University. As part of her accomplishments, Sonia was accepted as a member of the Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.
