About Sooji Hong

Sooji graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Chemistry and worked in the medical field for 3 years before starting Physician Assistant training. She worked as a Medical Assistant in Dermatology, Medical Scribe in the ER and Urgent Care, and a Patient Care Volunteer at California Hospital Medical Center in Downtown Los Angeles. Sooji went on to finish her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the Western University of Health Sciences, which allowed her to gain further experience in 11 different medical specialties.
While working with patients from many different backgrounds, Sooji grew aware of the lack of access to healthcare and resources to obtain optimal health for themselves and their families. This experience sparked her desire to educate her patients on not just their diagnosis, but also lifestyle, nutrition, exercise, and preventative care. Sooji believes in creating an individualized plan for each patient, as each patient’s conditions, needs, routines, and goals are unique.
She is very excited to continue to expand her functional medicine knowledge and to help patients achieve their health goals. She is motivated and committed to assisting patients to understand their illnesses while helping their journeys toward better health.
In her spare time, Sooji enjoys spending time with friends and family, hiking, visiting cozy cafes, and exploring new hobbies. She also loves music and spends her free time playing the cello and going to live concerts whenever she has the chance!
