About Soon Kim

Sharon Kim is a Virginia Licensed Acupuncturist and holds National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) certifications in both Acupuncture and Herbology. She earned her Master's in Acupuncture from Virginia University of Integrative Medicine. In addition, she has been a Professional Registered Nurse for more than 15 years. Sharon brings a unique approach that combines both Eastern and Western medicine. With her knowledge of Eastern medicine, she focuses on maintaining the balance of Yin and Yang, promoting the flow of Qi, and enhancing immune function-all of which help keep the body in a well-balanced state and reduce pain and discomfort. Her Western medicine experience, including anatomy, physiology, and pathology, allows her to make more detailed and informed treatment decisions. Her practice involves treating and alleviating symptoms such as neuromuscular pain (lower back pain, shoulder pain, sciatica, arthritis, golfer's elbow, Bell's palsy, etc.); sequelae of stroke (facial paralysis, hemiplegia, hemiparesis, etc.); edema (limb and general body edema); gynecological disorders (PMS, menopause syndrome, irregular menstruation, leukorrhea, infertility, etc.); genito-urinary problems (incontinence, enuresis, impotence, etc.); emotional and mental issues (anxiety, depression, stress, etc.); headaches (migraine, tension headache, general headache, etc.); allergies; gastrointestinal problems (indigestion, acid reflux, constipation, hemorrhoids, IBS, etc.); and skin problems (psoriasis, eczema, itching, etc.).
