Getting to know Stacy Darwish

With over 20 years of healthcare experience, I've seen firsthand how underlying mental health issues can profoundly impact overall wellness. My journey into mental health care was driven by a deep understanding of how stress, depression, and anxiety affect not only mental health but also physical health. I'm passionate about breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health and am dedicated to helping you see mental health care as an essential part of your overall well-being. I hold a Doctorate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University and an Associate's degree from Saddleback College, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive care. At the core of my practice is a commitment to compassionate, collaborative care. I value openness and teamwork, whether you're new to mental health care or have some experience but are seeking a fresh perspective. My approach is mainly medical management, recognizing that while medication can provide crucial support, true holistic wellness often involves a broader approach. I incorporate lifestyle changes and holistic strategies to enhance your overall mental health and help you develop healthy coping mechanisms. When you work with me, you can expect a supportive and collaborative environment. I strive to create a safe space where you feel heard, uplifted, and encouraged. Together, we'll work towards your personal goals and find the path to a better, more balanced life. With me, you're not just receiving care-you're engaging in a partnership to achieve your best self. I believe in setting attainable goals and helping my clients achieve them. I want my clients to feel empowered to continue their mental health journey, knowing they have a provider they can depend on.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach to mental health care. I believe in building a strong, trusting relationship with each client, where you feel heard, respected, and empowered every step of the way. Here’s what you can expect: A Holistic Approach: I treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. Along with medication management, I integrate evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, while also focusing on lifestyle factors such as sleep, nutrition, and stress management. Together, we’ll work to improve all aspects of your well-being. Personalized Care: Your treatment plan will be tailored specifically to your needs. I believe in meeting you where you are, adjusting treatment as necessary, and working together to set goals that align with your mental health journey. Medication Management & Therapy: I offer a balanced approach that combines medication management with brief psychotherapy. If medication is part of your treatment plan, I will ensure it’s both effective and well-tolerated, while using therapy to help you develop practical tools for managing your mental health. Empathy and Support: I am here to listen and provide guidance without judgment. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights to manage your mental health, while also providing a safe space for you to express your thoughts and feelings. Collaboration: We are partners in your mental health journey. I’ll support you in identifying the strategies that work best for you, while respecting your choices and actively involving you in your care. Your feedback is always welcome, and adjustments are made based on your progress.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to working with clients is focused on collaboration, trust, and creating a personalized treatment plan. Here’s an overview of the typical process: Initial Consultation: We begin with an in-depth consultation where we discuss your mental health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions, and for me to understand your unique needs. Comprehensive Assessment: I conduct a thorough psychiatric evaluation to assess your mental health. We’ll review any past diagnoses, current struggles, and any medications you’re taking to ensure they align with your treatment goals. Personalized Treatment Plan: Based on our initial conversations, I will create a treatment plan tailored to your needs. This may include medication management, brief psychotherapy (e.g., Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and lifestyle adjustments, focusing on sleep, nutrition, and stress management. Ongoing Sessions: We’ll meet regularly to monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and address any concerns. If medications are involved, we’ll assess their effectiveness and make adjustments as necessary. I also incorporate brief psychotherapy to help you develop coping strategies. Regular Progress Reviews: Every few sessions, we’ll review your progress and ensure that the treatment plan is working for you. This allows for adjustments and provides a space for you to share feedback. Empowerment & Support: My goal is to empower you with tools and strategies for long-term mental well-being. Through a combination of therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes, I’ll help you build the foundation for sustained growth and stability. Long-Term Wellness: As treatment progresses, we focus on creating a sustainable approach to maintaining your mental health independently. My aim is to support your journey to healing and long-term well-being.

Stacey Darwish was the only glimmer of hope that came at a time that was so scary to navigate. She truly cares about helping people. Stacey treated my husband as an individual. She honored and validated his feelings. After trying to seek help with 4 other psychiatrists, Stacey was the only one that didn’t just prescribe without truly being inquisitive enough to approach his case like a very determined detective. Stacey made my husband feel seen and heard. We have so much gratitude for her generosity and care.
The appointment went pretty well. There was a glitch in the system, and we lost communication for a bit but managed to get reconnected. Ms. Darwish was attentive and professional. I enjoyed our session very much and look forward to our next session.

She is solutions oriented and is honest and caring. I am incredibly grateful that she was taking on patients at the time I was in need. Stacy helped me feel understood, seen, and valued. Highly recommend her if you are looking for a provider who looks out for your best interests.

Stacy takes the time to listen and understand without rushing to prescribe medication, which made a world of difference for me. Her thoughtful approach and compassionate demeanor put me at ease and made it possible for me to describe my situation and receive the treatment I so desperately need. All in all, one of the most pleasant healthcare experiences I've had. I would absolutely recommend Stacy to anyone looking for a provider who genuinely cares.

Stacy has been by far and away the best practitioner that I have worked with to manage medication for my condition. Not only has she been prompt in her response, but she is very methodical in her approach and keeps a minimal approach when prescribing medication unless it becomes a necessity. I could not have had a better experience. Thanks again Stacy!
