Getting to know Dr. Stella Cruz Rodriguez

I am a Clinical Psychologist and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, holding a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University. I offer services to English and Spanish speakers and have extensive experience providing individual and group therapy to adults (18+). I am trained in multiple approaches to treating negative, traumatic, stressful, and challenging experiences. My approach I primarily provide support through an integrative approach, tailoring interventions to each participant's unique needs. Some of the treatment approaches I practice include, but are not limited to, ACT, CBT, Humanistic, Person-Centered, Narrative, Behavioral Modification, Solution Focus, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-focused therapy. My focus I believe anyone can benefit from learning more about themselves to become the best version of who they are. However, this requires willingness, commitment, and interest in beginning the healing process. If a person is not ready, it can be challenging to let go of habits they need to work on. Even if the process feels scary, working together can be helpful in addressing concerns and overcoming challenges. My communication style I strive to be curious and explore each participant's needs with compassionate care and active listening. My journey to therapy Throughout my years of training and practice, I have realized that many mental health issues stem from past negative or traumatic experiences. Symptoms of depression, anxiety, substance use, relationship issues, and others often represent just the tip of the iceberg. This understanding led me to specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, dual diagnoses, and related issues. My goals for you My main goal is to help participants overcome challenges, achieve their personal and therapeutic goals, and increase their engagement in healthy coping skills.
