Getting to know Dr. Stephanie Mak
Dr. Mak is a compassionate psychiatrist who finds great fulfillment in listening to her patients and understanding their unique experiences. She believes in the importance of addressing the whole person by integrating lifestyle modifications, behavioral interventions, and thoughtful medication management. Dr. Mak is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout their mental health journey.
Originally from Texas, Dr. Mak earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas A&M University before receiving her medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. She completed her general psychiatry residency at HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital in Tamarac, Florida, followed by a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship at the University of Miami. Her clinical interests include transitional-age adolescents and young adults, as well as women's mental health.
Outside of work, Dr. Mak enjoys staying active, traveling to new countries, and discovering unique dining experiences as a passionate foodie. She also cherishes spending quality time with her family and her two ragdoll cats, Mimi and Kiwi.
What should a new client know about working with you?
At this time we accept United, Aetna, Oscar, Cigna, BCBS, and Optum insurances that are non medicare/medicaid based. Currently we offer tele-only appointments.
Important to note: Out of respect to our physician’s time, there is a REFUNDABLE 25$ deposit to hold the appointment spot. This will be refunded to the patient when they show to the appointment. If the patient fails to show for the appointment or cancels with less than 24hour notice, this will be charged to cover costs of the appointment.
Regardless of insurance coverage, patients are required to supply a credit card at the time of booking the appointment

10/10 experience! I was honestly nervous at first, but they made the whole process feel so much easier. They listened without judging, explained things clearly, and made me feel like my feelings actually mattered. You can tell they really care. I love her!

For me first time in a long time I finally felt heard. She was sweet and patient and I did'nt feel rushed. We talked about what was right for me and I didnt feel like she was pushing any meds or anything! I felt very comfortable and I am greatful to have found her.
