Getting to know Steven Reedy
My name is Steven Reedy. As a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I bring ideals from both the medical and nursing models of care in a holistic approach. In doing so, this allows me to care for you with compassion, as a whole person, and with the latest evidence-based practices.
My approach
I use the latest evidence-based practice in my approach, along with modalities that include cognitive behavioral therapy, therapeutic communication, and motivational interviewing. I practice active listening and solution-based interventions.
My focus
I work with patients of all ages experiencing mood and thought disorders. I treat ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Insomnia, Autism, Personality Disorders, and Dementia.
My communication style
I strive to create a supportive, respectful, and empathetic environment for my patients. When working with me, you can expect confidentiality, active listening, Empathy and Compassion, Guidance, and a Non-Judgmental space.
My journey to mental healthcare
My background as a nurse was eight years of acute care. I was an Emergency Department and ICU nurse for almost a decade before I switched my focus to Mental Health. I observed firsthand the deficit in mental health care and prevention and wanted to devote my career to recognition, advocating prevention, and resources for patients with mental health needs.

When it comes to goal setting with patients, I follow a structured and collaborative approach to ensure your goals are meaningful and achievable. These include understanding needs and priorities, collaborative planning, regular check-ins, flexibility, and encouragement/support.
My first session with you
The first session is primarily about understanding your needs and establishing a foundation for our work together. We will build rapport, discuss concerns and goals, obtain background information, assess your symptoms, set expectations, make a plan, and answer questions.
