About Dr. Stuart Blackwood

About Blackwood Vascular My mission is simple: no patient with a vascular condition should feel confused, rushed, or left alone to navigate their disease. Modern medicine often leaves patients with unanswered questions, conflicting opinions, and little time to truly understand what is happening. Blackwood Vascular was created to change that. I am Dr. Stuart Blackwood, a board-certified vascular surgeon trained in both open and endovascular vascular surgery. My educational journey began at Munro College (Jamaica), followed by Morgan State University (Baltimore) and St. George's University School of Medicine (Grenada). I completed my internship at Johns Hopkins, seven years of General Surgery training, and a two-year Harvard-affiliated Vascular Surgery fellowship, where I trained in carotid disease, aneurysm repair, PAD, limb salvage, venous disease, and advanced endovascular procedures. Despite that training, I don't consider myself the typical vascular surgeon. I'm simply a guy who does vascular surgery. My diverse background taught me to communicate with patients from every educational and socioeconomic level. Every patient deserves honest answers, patience, and respect. Blackwood Vascular is a self-pay telehealth practice. Initial consultations are $250 and are non-cancelable once scheduled, as the practice incurs immediate scheduling and platform costs. Patients who cancel or miss their first visit will not be eligible for future scheduling. Follow-up visits are $100 and may be canceled or rescheduled freely. After your first visit, you will receive direct access to my office email and cell phone for appropriate vascular questions. Established patients may also request expedited or emergency telehealth appointments when urgent vascular concerns arise. Think of me as your vascular surgery doula. While I cannot replace your primary care physician or local specialists, I can help explain diagnoses, imaging, procedures, medications, hospitalizations, and treatm
