Dr. Qureshi is a Board-Certified General Psychiatrist. She was born and raised in Hyderabad, India. She underwent her medical training at Mamata Medical College, India and completed residency at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY.
Dr. Qureshi has gained extensive training in psychiatric inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings and has worked with diverse populations. She has practiced Telepsychiatry since her graduation including working at community mental health centers serving the serious mentally ill in underserved areas. Dr. Qureshi’s practice includes management of psychiatric disorders in adults including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and others. She is interested in treating issues related to women’s health as well.

Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

I just had my intake appointment with Dr. Sumaiyah Qureshi. It has been a rocky road trying to find a psychiatrist that is a good fit. Dr. Qureshi listened, she asked thoughtful questions and offered up insights that gave space to a little bit of hope that I desperately needed. She is professional and personable. Big take aways for me-- Her emotional intelligence, her competence, a feeling like she really listened to me and a sense that she is invested in providing compassionate care.

I am not going back to this provider. I didn't find her to be particularly tactful. I'm sure she is nice enough, but her bedside manner and demeanor were not a good fit for what I was looking for. I didn't feel like she was particularly thorough or thoughtful in her diagnosis/suggested treatment plan. Questions felt routine and like a check-list, rather than thoughtful or intuitive. Our intake appointment felt rushed and inconclusive and I didn't feel particularly supported, heard, or listened to. Ultimately, I decided to try to find a different provider.

Dr. Qureshi is amazing! This was my first time meeting with her and she really listening to me and tried to find a solution for my issues. She really cares about patients needs and you can tell. Highly recommend her to anyone look for a psychiatrist!
