Dr. Sumeyra Yucelen was born and raised in Turkey. She earned her medical degree from Dokuz Eylul University and completed her initial residency training in Internal Medicine at Sisli Etfal Hospital in Istanbul. After working as an internist for four years, she moved to the United States, where she completed a second Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary’s Hospital in Connecticut. With dual residency, Dr. Yucelen has a deep passion for building long-term relationships with her patients, focusing on preventive care, chronic disease management, and serving as a trusted cornerstone within the healthcare system. Following completion of her residency, she and her family relocated to California, where she joined Providence Medical Associates in 2025. Her professional interests include medical writing, education, and lifelong learning to continually enhance her clinical expertise. Outside of medicine, she enjoys yoga, tennis, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and daughters.
