I am an interactive clinician who can be both straight forward and imaginative. I will support and teach you how to overcome your challenges so you can live fully as your best self. My approach is biopsychosocial. I trained in medical psychology as well as anthropology, psychoanalysis, CBT, DBT, child work and diversity studies. My working model includes recognizing your biological predispositions and temperament, understanding the relational systems that influenced you - family, peers, culture and politics - and developing mastery of your own diverse way of being in the world. I want to know who you are in life in addition to learning why you are seeking therapy. Primarily, I engage you in the therapeutic process so we can determine together what approach will best help you with your mental health issues. I teach graduate psychology at Teacher's College, Columbia and City College, and serve in an editorial capacity for professional publications.
