What should a new client know about working with you?

Working with me tends to feel steady, conversational, and grounded. You don’t need to come in with everything figured out. A lot of people start off unsure of what they need, or even how to explain what’s been going on, and that’s completely okay. We’ll take the time to sort through it together. I tend to ask thoughtful questions, reflect back what I’m hearing, and help you make sense of patterns or experiences that might feel unclear right now. Some sessions may feel more reflective, while others are more practical—talking through options, next steps, or whether medication is something you want to consider. If we do explore medication, I approach it carefully and intentionally. We’ll talk through what it could look like, what to expect, and any concerns you have. I typically aim for the lowest effective dose and check in regularly so things feel supportive, not overwhelming. You can be honest here about what’s helping, what’s not, or if something doesn’t feel like the right fit. That openness matters, and it helps us make care actually work for you. More than anything, I want you to feel like you have someone in your corner who’s paying attention and taking you seriously.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We’ll start with an initial evaluation where we take time to understand what’s been going on for you. In that first session, we’ll talk through what you’ve been experiencing, any symptoms or patterns you’ve noticed, your history, and what you’re hoping might feel different moving forward. There’s no pressure to have the “right” words, we’ll figure things out together as we go. From there, we’ll shape a plan that feels realistic and aligned with what you need right now. That might include ongoing check-ins, coordination with a therapist, and/or exploring medication if it feels like a helpful option. If medication becomes part of your care, I’ll walk you through your options in a clear, straightforward way so you feel informed and comfortable. We’ll continue to check in on how you’re feeling over time and make adjustments if needed. Follow-up sessions are usually a space to revisit how things are going, talk through any changes you’ve noticed, and make sure everything still feels in line with what you’re needing. There’s always room to ask questions or shift direction. If you’re working with other providers, I can collaborate with them (with your permission) so your care feels more aligned and less siloed. The process isn’t rigid, it’s meant to adjust with you, depending on what feels most helpful along the way.
