Getting to know Tandy Mackey

Hello, I'm Ms. Tandy, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Georgia. My journey in mental health has been shaped by providing direct counseling to teens and adults facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, relationship and family issues, trauma, community violence, gender identity, and depression. I approach our therapeutic relationship with a deep sensitivity and respect for multicultural and cross-cultural factors. Having worked with a diverse population, including different races, youth, families, and adults, I understand the complexities of navigating generational and cultural differences. My professional goal is to bridge the gap between my personal knowledge of Western cultures and my experience in providing mental health support, especially given the underrepresentation of minority groups in the mental health field. My experience spans various settings, from community mental health agencies and school environments to day treatment facilities. I firmly believe that we are all products of our closest relationships, our environment, our family systems, and every moment that leads to our present selves. In our sessions, I strive to treat you with compassion, respect, and warmth. My therapeutic style is influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Psychoeducation, and Structural Systems. My top priority is to meet you where you are and tailor our treatment approach to what will work best for you. Whether you are seeking enlightenment and insight or aiming for symptom relief and improved functioning, my hope is that we can work together collaboratively to achieve your goals.
