Getting to know Tara Livingston

Hi, I'm Tara! I'm grateful for this opportunity to help people-such as yourself-feel their best. I want to learn about you: your goals, your struggles, your strengths, and the areas where you want to grow. I pride myself on my ability to listen empathetically and non-judgmentally. During each session, I provide support and work with my clients so they feel understood, cared for, and confident that things can improve. Life can be overwhelming at times, and while the struggle is real, you don't have to face it alone. I want to empower you to overcome the obstacles that have been holding you back from functioning at your highest level. There is a stigma associated with medication use for mental health. I aim to help eliminate that stigma by using medication not as the sole answer, but as a tool. When appropriate, I incorporate medication alongside other therapeutic modalities to help you conquer any mental health challenges preventing you from feeling and functioning your best. I hold a Master's degree in Family Nursing from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing. Through therapeutic communication, evidence-based practice, and collaboration, I would be honored to assist you in reaching your goals!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After your initial appointment with me, together we will come up with a plan to work towards achieving your goals. Our initial appointment is getting to know each other better and to see what areas you most need help with. If additional cognitive testing or genetic testing is requested/warranted, we will discuss and initiate that as well. After a plan of care is agreed upon, I will spend as much time as needed to provide education and guidance, to answer any questions you may have, and to help you leave each session feeling heard, validated, and hopeful. The plan of care will be adjusted as needed to fit your life and your goals.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Tara is very nice and caring. She understands, me at least, on a different level. She helped me gain some sort of control over my life, the best that she could with medication and suggestions that may help. I'm fortunate to find someone like her.
Tara is easy to talk to and a great listener. She has great eye contact and a kind smile. She offers intelligent advice as needed. She quickly responds to messages I send. I’m very happy in my relationship with Grow Therapy. Thank you.
Tara was amazing to talk to! She made me feel so comfortable and helped me understand myself better. I definitely will go back to her if I am needing medication in the future.
Tara is the best!
I've spent years with different psychiatrists. She's been the only one to actually work with me and not against. Very caring and thoughtful as well. You feel like you're in it together which I appreciate.
Tara has taken a lot of time to get to know me very well, my personal circumstances, and my comfort level with receiving feedback and asking difficult questions. She takes all of this into consideration and is able to be very direct with me when necessary.
Tara is a breath of fresh air. There is absolutely no sense of just trying to churn through appointments, or forcing any particular view/options on you. She listens, takes into account what has worked for you and what hasn't, and asks relevant questions that not only make you take stock of your situation, but also make you feel heard and understood. My first appointment was virtual, and even though it can be difficult to make a connection in a virtual setting, it came naturally and effortlessly, because Tara actually listens and engages. I am looking forward to an in-person appointment. She is also extremely responsive even after the appointment. Everyone's needs are different in this space, but I can't recommend Tara highly enough.
