Tariqshah Syed, MD, is an interventional cardiologist serving the Bergen County community. Dr. Syed is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and internal medicine. He earned his medical doctorate from Khyber Medical College in Pakistan. Dr. Syed completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. He completed his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at Saint Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.

My experience here was wonderful. Staff was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable & kind. I feel so much less anxious now that I’ve seen this doctor, he listened to every single one of my concerns (even “silly” ones) and made me feel so much better! I was under the care of a doctor in another state, and I wanted to establish a relationship with a cardiologist in NJ as I am here for long periods of time. I especially wanted to find out if the recent problems I’m having (coughing, fatigue, other things) were due to the medication the other doctor had me on or if it was something else. I was glad to get an appointment here quickly and was assigned to Dr. Syed. Dr. Syed was warm, friendly and easy to talk with. I was indeed having a reaction to the medicine I’d been on for several months. Thankfully the EKG the medical assistant administered was fine. He gave great advice regarding lowering my blood pressure via diet and exercise while also monitoring it. But if need be, I was instructed to come back and discuss alternate medications. I liked that he had a more holistic approach to medications and blood pressure management and I trust that going forward he will help me make the right decisions.
