Taylor Sublett, NP

Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
UT
Hi there, I'm Taylor! Wondering if medication support is right for your mental health journey? I offer comprehensive assessment and medication education to figure out what your best options are, with ongoing consideration for your comfort and safety. And if you decide medication isn't for you right now? That's okay, too! My focus I'm a USAF veteran trained at the VA with a heavy background in trauma, emergency, and disaster medical response, so if you're holding on to trauma from anywhere, I've got you. For all clients, I'm LGBTQIA+ friendly, gender affirming, and believe in health at any size. My approach I use evidence-based approaches to figure out what your diagnoses are, with heavy emphasis on collaboration between you and me to make sure we're on the right path. I focus on teaching so you really understand what the medications are doing. My goal is to manage the lowest doses and fewest medications possible for symptom improvement! My communication style Up-front, honest, direct. Appointments will be non-judgmental and respectful. I like to turn complex topics into smaller bites that everyone can access. I probably won't swear, but I don't mind if you do! My journey to mental healthcare After working in emergency, disaster response, and trauma as an RN, I saw so much emotional trauma not being addressed. As well-meaning as some providers are, it's hard to "get it" when you've never been in it. I initially wanted to focus on veteran mental health, but I fell in love with the whole profession and now see a much wider group!
