Telishia ?TJ? Johnson is a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate licensed in Washington and practicing under the supervision of Dana Lewin in Texas. She provides therapy and teletherapy to couples, families, individuals, and teens ages 15 and up living in both Texas and Washington.

She earned her Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northcentral University, a Bachelor's degree from Colorado Technical University, and a Master of Education from American InterContinental University Houston Campus.
As a marriage and family therapist, Family Systems is one of her primary approaches. This means she works with clients from a systemic perspective, assessing each client's presenting problems through the impact of their relationships, culture, and context. She helps clients identify their interactional cycles with the goal of clarifying meaning, modifying patterns, and strengthening relationships.
What should a new client know about working with you?
In addition to therapy, she incorporates somatic approaches to support the nervous system in healing. Some examples of these auxiliary treatment approaches include meditation, mindfulness, tapping, movements and psychoeducation based on polyvagal theory, and neurofeedback.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I use a variety of clinically proven models of therapy such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Polyvagal therapy and Gestalt therapy to support self-reflection and interaction.
One key distinguisher in my approach is that I recognize how heavily our past experiences weigh on us and influence our present, and work to help clients see this connection so that they can make conscious and intentional choices on action taking to achieve their desired outcomes.
