About Dr. Terrence Hess

Since 1995, Dr. Hess has dedicated his time and passion for Podiatric Medicine in the Northwest to improving the lives of his patients, staff, and the community. Dr. Hess began his career by obtaining his degree in Pharmacy at the University of Washington. He diligently worked in the pharmaceutical industry for three years before discovering that becoming a Podiatrist was his true calling. In 1992, he graduated with honors from the California School of Podiatric Medicine (now part of Samuel Merritt University) in San Francisco, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Continuing his career path, Dr. Hess successfully completed his residency training in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Lakewood Regional Medical Center and Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Portland, Oregon. He then honed his skills at Harborview Medical Center, which inspired him to establish Foot & Ankle Surgical Associates in 2002. Over the years, Dr. Hess?s private practice has grown and expanded, now proudly operating six offices in Tumwater, Centralia, Yelm, Olympia, Tacoma, and Lacey, Washington. Additionally, he leads a team of seven exceptional Podiatric Physicians who work alongside him to ensure every patient has a positive experience. Dr. Hess not only dedicates himself to his practice but is also passionate about helping and preparing other Podiatrists to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape. Throughout his career, he has shared his knowledge by delivering numerous lectures to physicians, nursing groups, and patients, shedding light on foot and ankle pathologies and treatment options. During this time, he also embraced his love for travel, frequently participating in surgical mission trips to Central America, including El Salvador and Nicaragua. When Dr. Hess is not on duty, he enjoys engaging in water and snow sports, traveling, and working on his car collection. He also treasures spending time with his children, making sure to seize every moment to create beautiful memories.
