About Dr. Thea McCallion

Thea began her practice in physical medicine in childhood, when she discovered a natural affinity for massage and finding people’s sore spots. Many years later, after experiencing a diverse personal and professional life living, studying and working in Japan, China and Mexico, she made her way back to New York and the medical arts. Thea first earned a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine at Pacific College in New York City and later became a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science, where she is also a Clinical Supervisor engaged in training future professionals like herself. For over 20 years as a New York State Licensed Acupuncturist and Nationally Certified diplomat of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine, Thea’s clinical practice has evolved and includes many areas of expertise. At WSPR, her main focus is treating varied musculoskeletal trauma and pain often associated with sports injuries, an accident, a surgery and/or from simply having awoken one morning with a particular issue. Though sessions may begin addressing pain, future appointments invariably include treatment of other sometimes seemingly unrelated symptoms that occur simultaneously. Through careful observation of and in-depth discussions with a patient, Thea works like a medical detective to reveal the way symptoms are often connected, sometimes as a cause of or resulting from one incident or a series of them. Besides low back and neck pain, other conditions Thea is very experienced treating include all digestive disorders and headaches, TMJ, fatigue, insomnia and she has a particular expertise with all menstrual and menopausal related syndromes. She has also helped many male and female individuals and couples improved their reproductive health and fertility, wheth *We accept & work with most insurances as non-par providers. Thea was wonderful: very friendly and welcoming bedside manner, easy to talk to, asked me thorough questions and didn’t rush my answers. She offered a lot of helpful suggestions for dealing with the chronic pain I’ve been experiencing. For your first appt there is a bunch of paperwork to fill out (medical history, consent forms, etc). The office sent me the forms in advance, and advised coming in 15min early to have time to fill them out. Do this!! Don’t be like me, frantically filling everything out in the waiting room, stressed because I’m late for my appt. Give yourself plenty of time. Overall it was a great experience (aside from the paperwork rush) and I’m really looking forward to more sessions with her.

The best practice in NY. Very professional and welcoming stuff and doctors are beyond amazing, especially Dr. Thea and Dr.Arina who with their knowledge and experience helped my biggest dream come true. I would highly recommend this great practice and amazing people that work there.
Dr. McCallion is one of the most talented acupuncturists that I’ve been fortunate to have treat me. Her knowledge of the both Eastern and Western styles of approach to treatment allows her to have multiple effective ways to heal both the mind and body. She quickly adapts to my changing moods and tolerances, so I able to relax and not worry about being sensitive to needles. -Curtis 2020 USA Olympian
I hadn't ever tried acupuncture before visiting Wall Street Pain Relief Center, but both Maiko and Thea were friendly, knowledgeable, warm, and professional and made the experience enjoyable and not scary. Acupuncture has been a great supplement to physical therapy and helping me feel better.
Great experience from start to finish. Every person who works here is thorough, kind, and willing to help. This is my go-to now for all things body wellness.
Excellent thoughtful and complete.
