About Dr. Thomas Toussaint

Hi, I'm Dr. Toussaint — a board-certified OB/GYN and fellowship-trained pelvic floor specialist with over 25 years of experience. I founded the Pelvic Laser Institute of Florida because I believe every woman deserves expert, compassionate care delivered with dignity and respect.
I specialize in pelvic floor disorders, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, minimally invasive robotic surgery, and complex gynecologic conditions including endometriosis and uterine fibroids. I trained under world-renowned surgeon Dr. Ceana Nezhat and later served as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Illinois School of Medicine.
I speak English, Spanish, French, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese, and I take pride in connecting with each patient on a personal level. My goal is simple — to listen, to educate, and to give you answers when others haven't.

Waited for over an hour in the waiting room. Waited another hour in the exam room to the point the lights shut off. After my appt, I didn’t receive a call but got an update saying my results were ready to view. My results stated an unusable sample was given and not 1 person called to reschedule nor did they return my call despite the urgency. I do not recommend this Dr at all and I gave them 2 chances thinking maybe it was unusual. Office itself is nice but this Dr and his staff are unprofessional and lack common courtesy.

This was the WORST doctor experience of my life! If I could give 0 stars I would Dr Toussaint was cold and distant I could have gotten past that seeing as I’m a new patient but what I can’t get past is me being examined in the nude and having nurses opening the door wide open THREE times where anyone outside the room could see me.
Then I finally got my surgery scheduled. Or so I thought, the lady forgot to schedule it so they had to rush book me a last minute appointment!
Then the night before my surgery at 7pm I get a call from Dr. Toussaint telling me he’s canceling my surgery They then pushed my surgery back an entire MONTH! Then they booked me for a completely different and more expensive/invasive surgery than what I was supposed to have done. This other surgery they booked would have literally made me infertile luckily I caught the mistake.
After many calls trying to fix it I was done and just canceled the whole thing. This review barely covers half of how bad this was!

My fiancé was very skeptical about us seeing a male OB and after our appt with Dr Thomas he was more comfortable and decide he will be our OB for the rest of the pregnancy. His sense of humor and the ability to make people comfortable around was out of this world. He takes his time examining and pays attention to details. It was great experience.

The doctor was good. My problem is with the staff. When booking my appointment on ZocDoc, I called to ensure I would be able to have an ultrasound with my annual exam. I knew it was 2 separate appointments and made the receptionist aware of everything I needed. She told me the ultrasound tech comes on Mondays, so I said I should rebook for Monday. She said no, keep your appointment and the doctor can do the ultrasound for you. I traveled almost 2 hours from Tampa based on these great reviews. I got there and the wait was an additional 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. When I finally got called to the back, the doctor had no idea that I was supposed to get an ultrasound. The receptionist did not schedule my ultrasound nor did she inform the doctor. I was given a referral to get an ultrasound elsewhere, which defeated the entire purpose of me going there. I wasted 4 hours of my day driving there and back home. I was highly dissatisfied and will not be returning.

I had a really embarrassing situation that I was so self conscious of and he was such a gem! Made me feel comfortable, explained everything to me and throws in some humor to settle any nerves you think you may have.
I don’t think I’ve ever experience more professionalism in a doctor, honestly he warmed my heart so much to the point you leave thinking you’re BFF’s with you OB!
I’ve only ever had female OBGYN’s but he truly is a fake
