He is a fellowship-trained sports medicine surgeon specializing in shoulder, elbow, and knee surgery. Medical Director for the Georgia Swarm (NLL), serves as a Clinical Professor for the Emory University Orthopedic Surgery Sports Medicine Fellowship, and is a Team Physician for the University of Georgia Bulldogs Baseball team (NCAA). He is a member of the exclusive American Shoulder and Elbow Society (ASES), which has admitted less than 10 surgeons in the Atlanta area. Dr. Griffith utilizes minimally invasive and innovative arthroscopic and open techniques to treat shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries. He is the Shoulder, Elbow, and Knee Orthopedic Surgeon for the Atlanta Braves (MLB), Medical Director for the Georgia Swarm (NLL), and is a Team Physician for the University of Georgia Bulldogs Baseball team. In addition, he is a Team Physician for Denmark, Forsyth Central, and West Forsyth High Schools. Some of his special interests include rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability repair (labral tears and dislocations), ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction (“Tommy John” surgery), ulnar collateral ligament repair with internal brace fixation, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, knee ligament surgery, meniscal repair, elbow ligament and tendon repairs, and total shoulder replacement. He also performs complex and revision surgical cases. Dr. Griffith attended the University of Georgia where he earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors from the University of Georgia Honors Program. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia for medical school, earning an election into the exclusive national medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha.
