My experience has primarily been with adults suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, among other things. My focus My patient population has always been adults, whether that was seeing them in an outpatient setting, or in a high-acuity, inpatient psychiatric facility. My approach is to treat each person individually with a treatment plan that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. My approach My approach to psychiatry/medication management varies based on the needs of each client. When needed, I utilize techniques of motivational interviewing, talk therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavior therapy, among others, as a way to supplement medication management to help you feel better throughout our time together. My communication style My communication style is calm, accommodating, and personable. I want my patients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a nurse practitioner because I have always wanted to help people. I changed careers from business to healthcare, and I am so glad I did. I now find more purpose in my career, and I am happy when I see others improve. My goals for you My approach to goal setting with patients is all about working together to define what you want to accomplish in our time together. To have a good working relationship, there needs to be honesty and trust between us, so that you feel comfortable, and I can assist you to improve.
