He received his bachelor’s in biophysics at University of California, Berkeley before completing his doctorate at Dartmouth College. Dr. Murphy completed his internship at Joint Base Andrew and worked as a general practitioner at Hanscom Air Force Base. He has held several leadership positions at the San Diego Psychiatric Society, California Psychiatric Association, San Diego County Behavioral Health Advisory Board, and the California Medical Association Specialty Delegation.
