About Dr. Timothy Sentongo

Timothy A. S. Sentongo, MD, specializes in gastrointestinal problems impacting growth and nutrition in infants, children and adolescents. He has a particular interest in children with chronic illnesses such as short bowel syndrome, food intolerances, feeding problems and cystic fibrosis, which can lead to impaired growth and require specialized nutrition support and gastrointestinal care. Dr. Sentongo’s research focuses on improving treatment and therapies for children and adolescents with short bowel syndrome, parenteral nutrition (TPN), eosinophilic esophagitis, growth problems and nutritional deficiencies.

My three medically-complex daughters have received exceptional care from Dr Sentongo. Difficult interventions are still needed in order to help their GI systems function well enough to provide them with consistent optimal nutrition, but his guidance has been very helpful, and the kids are thriving right now.

First time seeing him and really liked him
We went to Dr Sentongo for a 2nd opinion and ended up switching to him instead of our sons other GI doctor because of the explanations he gave. He made the same recommendation but we felt he was a better fit for our family.
