Getting to know Dr. Timothy Taylor

Hello there, I am looking forward to working with you. I have been practicing psychiatry since 1989, offering extensive experience in all aspects of care. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from The George Washington University and completed my residency in psychiatry at the University of California, Irvine. You can expect my best effort, openness about treatment and medication, informed consent, and a reliable treatment plan that aligns with your recovery goals. My clients benefit from my vast experience and dedication to being a helpful resource. I value sensitivity and respect for your investment in your health and strive to contribute meaningfully to your recovery. I treat clients ages 10 to 65, specializing in general adult psychiatry, addressing ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), mood disorders, and more. My treatment modalities include medications and psychotherapy, ensuring comprehensive care. Known as a "patient's advocate," I believe in autonomy and choice, with therapy goals defined by you. I emphasize the importance of self-discovery and achieving a sense of life satisfaction. If this is the care you are searching for, please don't hesitate to reach out.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My best effort. Openness about the treatment and medication. Informed consent with a concrete treatment plan and options that will facilitate your goals in recovery. Reliability with few surprises.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I've been called a "patient's advocate" because I'm a believer in real autonomy and choice. I think that good therapy pays off and shows positive results, and those goals are defined by the client, not the doctor. We learn about ourselves and seek to become more at ease with who we are, and seek a sense of satisfaction in life. It's realistic to expect real dividends from the effort. It is your effort that will bring your recovery. The doctor is there to help.
