Dr. Wong is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Yale University, Bridgeport Hospital. Dr. Wong performs community screening projects in the local area and is an occasional speaker on local radio stations covering a variety of GI topics. He specializes in the treatment of reflux disease, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, screening and treatment of gastric and colon cancer, liver disease, and hepatitis.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Drive from NJ after having the appointment for 2 weeks and sending a pic of my insurance. Once there, they tell me to sit down and after 40 min of waiting for my turn, they tell me they can’t take me because I’m out of network. I showed them my insurance from NJ 2 weeks prior and they confirmed my appointment. I paid the tunnel, missed work, and paid parking. Also, they didn’t ask for vaccine information and their staff is extremely unprofessional. They only have one doctor so even with appointment, you’d have yo wait a long time. 0/5 stars would not recommend, would not come again.

Dr. Wong was extremely thorough with his explanation, informing me of other possible causes for my symptoms. He also explained the approaches we need to take before reaching a final diagnosis. I just wish the wait to see him was shorter, but I can see why he has a line of patients.

Honestly, I was 15 minutes late for my appointment because of train trouble. So, the wait time may have been partially due to my late arrival. But, Dr. Wong and the office staff were very understanding and really great!
Right now, I'm just waiting to hear if the anesthesiologist who will be present for the colonoscopy also takes my GHI-CBP insurance. Then, I will most certainly schedule my colonoscopy with Dr. Wong, and will share my feedback on Zocdoc.
The sense I have from my one visit is that Dr. Wong's office is a doctor's office that is really very well run.

Compared to my first time undergoing the procedure, the recovery time was even shorter, so I would like to believe that my concern about anesthesia which I expressed in the presence of both Dr. Wong and the presiding anesthesiologist (Dr. Ramos I think) was taken into consideration.
Just as last time if not even more often, many staff members including the doctors checked on me to ensure that I was ok until I had to leave which made me feel that even while they had other patients to tend to and a pending internet issue, they are not only professional but humane (I was not forgotten). Great service!

After confirming that I would still be seen if I were to arrive later which I admit is quite gracious of his office, I did not wait long at all considering that I had missed my original appt time. Dr. Wong was very pleasant and listened closely to me as I shared my reason for the visit which brings me to add that he also commented on a few things I had mentioned that were very important to me, so altogether, he exhibits consideration (a seemingly near-extinct quality among some in the care profession). I look forward to my future visit!

Dr. Timothy Wong is friendly and knowledgeable. He also thinks for the patient in terms of the relationship of the possible treatment and financial spending. This is something that most doctors do not usually go into details. He gives options of what the patient could choose to do based on what he think it is. He doesn't rush you at all.
The only thing that was painstaking was the waiting time. But after seeing him and listening to him, I think I would still recommend this doctor to anyone who doesn't get mad waiting.

While the wait took some time, the office was also busy, and Dr. Wong made sure to spend time with me and not just make sure I was in-and-out, so the wait was definitely worth it. I felt very comfortable booking a follow-up.

Dr. Wong has a great bedside manner and took the time to explain everything in detail. The wait time is the only drawback - he packs so many folks in in one day that the wait time both times I went exceeded 45 mins. Allot time for that when you book with him!

Dr. Wong is very competent, informative, and friendly. Before seeing him, I went to various other doctors who were unable to tell me what was wrong with me. However, Dr. Wong has been able to identify at least two things that are the cause of my discomfort and is still looking into things to get to the bottom of all my problems. He cares a lot about his patients' wellbeing and it shows. The only downside is that the wait time in his office is on average 40 minutes. However, he is well worth the wait.

Dr. Wong dealt with my tricky case of a stomach issue (feeling full all of the time) with being emotionally stressed out because I couldn't eat and it creating a horrible health Catch-22. He correctly diagnosed what I had pretty much right away although we weren't sure and was so upstanding as to steer me away from wanting to go on prokinetics (I was desperate and didn't care about the neurological side effects at that point)! He also made me feel less crazy by explaining the connection between the gut and serotonin and "normalized" what I was going through. He was also receptive/suggested working with a nutritionist and acupuncturist. Feel really lucky to have gotten this doctor and not someone who just phones it in with medications. Would recommend him to anyone with GI issues!

Receptionist is really rude, but glad to see their wait times improve from 2+ hrs to only 40 minutes. In addition to the long wait, multiple patients are in the waiting room talking on speaker phone, yelling over the chinese drama playing on TV. Doctor himself is very professional and thorough.

I cant say enough great things about Dr. Wong! From start to finish, I felt as though I was under the care of a genuinely dedicated medical professional.
*Highlights*
- Dr. Wong is attentive, thorough and genuinely concerned about his patients overall well being. Unbeknownst to me, he forwarded all of my medical records to my primary doc who had them readily available when I went in for a physical months later.
- He immediately responded to an after-hours call that I placed to report discomfort following a procedure (he even followed up later that evening and the next day - a Sunday!)
- He is a consummate professional in every way and he makes it his mission to ensure that your questions and concerns are addressed and treated promptly.
I am grateful to Dr. Wong and his staff for taking such good care of me while under their care.
