Getting to know Dr. Traci Hodes

I am a licensed therapist with Meru Health. In just 12 weeks, the duration of our program, you will build skills to reduce stress, alleviate anxiety, and better manage uncomfortable emotions. I'll support you through unlimited chat messaging and scheduled video calls throughout this journey. I hold a PhD in School Psychology from Fordham University and have 25 years of experience working with adults experiencing grief, anxiety, and mood disorders. I also have specialized training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Mindfulness teaches us how to be present in the moment, helping us move out of states that keep us feeling depressed, anxious, or overwhelmed. Learning to connect with "anchors" helps ground us throughout the day. Mindfulness, used in conjunction with compassion-based approaches, can be helpful with many mental health issues. Each of us needs a safe refuge from which to explore what is tender and difficult. Together, we discover what that safe refuge is for you and how you can access it. It's not about right or wrong; it's about finding what works and what will sustain beyond the period of therapy. In my free time, you might find me hiking or enjoying life with my dogs, Boone and Lucy.
