Dr. Aw earned his Doctor of Medicine from Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he served as Chief Resident. Subsequently, he completed a clinical fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry-a branch of psychiatry focusing on the intersection between physical illness and mental illness-at Yale New Haven Hospital. He then worked in telepsychiatry for three years at Teladoc Health. Over the past three years, he has taught part-time and voluntarily at various medical schools.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I enjoy working with Telapsychiatry. I am a physician specializing in psychiatry with a subspecialty in CL psychiatry, focused on treating people with medical/surgical illness. I am interested on the intersection of mental and physical health, as my philosophy is that one does not exist outside the other.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I employ a collaborative approach toward treatment.

Dr left me hanging twice without meds. Cancelled appointments, with the last straw being a no-show for the most recently scheduled appointment. If going through medication withdrawal is fun for you then give him a shot. But by all means not through the ZocDoc app because his office says they don’t even see those appointments…..

I filled out all of the required intake paper work and provided them with my information, but I was never seen. I called the office about my appointment, and they said their scheduling team would get back to me within five minutes, and no one ever did.

I was feeling like I was loosing my mind and had a lot of things happened in my 51 years of life. I was having several current issues, unable to concentrate and feeling like electrical wires were crossing up in my mind.

I have literally been feeling helpless while my mind and body seem to be failing me. Dr Aw listened to me, he asked about the things going on mentally AND physically. He did not just throw 9 meds at me and hope one stuck, he explained what he thought the best process was for now and what the treatment plan would look like while we figure things out. For the first time in months and months I feel like someone heard me. 100/10 would recommend
