“I came to see Lera after a busy week and I had a very uncomfortable headache. She asked me a couple questions to understand where the pain was and how I was doing with digestion, sleep, menstrual cycle. Lera made sure that the room felt warm, cozy and that I felt relaxed. My headache went away in the first 10 minutes and I enjoyed the rest of the treatment. ”

About Valeriya (Lera) Gershevich

Dr. Lera Gershevich is a licensed acupuncturist and an herbalist. She completed a four-year doctorate program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. While in school, Lera has completed internships at Chicago Women’s Health Center and Project Vida. She is currently deepening her knowledge of Chinese Herbal Medicine through a 2-year graduate mentorship program with Sharon Weizenbaum. Lera is very passionate about providing the best possible care to her patients and strives to make everyone feel heard and cared for. Lera provides services in both English and Russian. In her spare time, she loves gardening and growing Chinese herbs. The process helps her connect with the plants and deepen her knowledge of their medicinal properties. She also enjoys spending time with the local community and participating in events creating connections with people that live nearby.

I came to see Lera after a busy week and I had a very uncomfortable headache. She asked me a couple questions to understand where the pain was and how I was doing with digestion, sleep, menstrual cycle. Lera made sure that the room felt warm, cozy and that I felt relaxed. My headache went away in the first 10 minutes and I enjoyed the rest of the treatment.
I really enjoyed my visit. I was greeted warmly by Lera. I like that she started by asking me how I was doing & then how I was feeling in my body (digestion, how I was sleeping, etc). The process of acupuncture was good because she communicated every step of the way, about what was happening and what to expect. She made sure I was warm & comfortable, as relaxed as possible.
Lera was very attentive to my specific needs, listened carefully, asks for consent, before taking my pulse! I feel very safe here & that is not something I always get as a trans person trying to navigating health care.
Lera is very professionial and has a warm demeanor. Her touch is gentle and healing. She is a very pleasant person to be around.
DR. GERSHEVICH WAS OUTSTANDING. VERY PLEASANT AND CONFIDENT, WITH A CALMING MANNER. EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THOROUGHLY, MADE SURE I WAS COMFORTABLE, TOOK THE TIME TO ENSURE EVERYTHING WENT WELL. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
