After graduating from medical school, Dr. Vlas moved to China and spent ten years studying acupuncture and working as an acupuncture physician. He is the only foreign physician licensed as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine in China. Dr.Vlas underwent training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Weill Cornell Medical College/New York-Presbyterian Hospital and in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at Harvard Medical School . He also worked as Chief of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Medpark International Hospital. As an Acupuncture expert, Dr. Vlas is often invited to teach his fellow doctors in medical schools to share his expertise. He has been teaching acupuncture as a professor and attending physician at Southwest Acupuncture College and the American Academy of Acupuncture. Dr. Vlas has served as Dean of the doctorate program in acupuncture at the University of East-West Medicine, the Dean of East West College of Natural Medicine, and a Clinic Director at the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine Medical Center. In his more than 20 years as a practicing physician, Dr.Vlas has helped thousands of people optimize their health. Dr.Vlas had received an Award for Excellence in Holistic Medicine from the Holistic Doctors Recognition Board as one of the TOP TEN holistic doctors in Florida in 2017.
