Getting to know Dr. Vernon Dorfman
Dr. Dorfman specializes in ADD/ADHD, Sleep Disorders, Anger Management, Depression, Anxiety, and Medication Reviews. He performs IPEs for various organizations. His continuing education includes journals, lectures, workshops, tapes, meetings, and marketing research. Dr. Dorfman completed courses in General Psychiatry at New York University. His training includes Medical School at Stanford University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine; an internship at Beth Israel Medical Center; and residencies in Psychiatry at both Bergen Pines County Hospital and Beth Israel Medical Center. In 1983, he attended Harvard for training, followed by Interview Techniques at Harvard in 1984, Psychopharmacology in 1984, 1989, 1992, 1994, and Complimentary Psychiatry in 2005. He has recent experience in Forensic Psychiatry and attended Child Psychology Seminars on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Children and Adults with Dr. R. Barkley in November 1991. Dr. Dorfman has provided regular consultations and seminars on Psychopharmacology to Social Workers and EAP staff. He also conducts investigative evaluations for insurance companies and attends Dr. Stephen Stahl's comprehensive Psychiatry Psychopharmacology seminars and teleconferences.
