BEST PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT PROCESS What I consider the BEST PSYCHIATRIC TREATMENT PROCESS is as follows: 1) I don’t prescribe medications that have the intrinsic quality of developing dependence or addiction (Benzodiazepines, Hypnotics, Opiates, Stimulants). 2) An appointment can't be requested unless you are ready to pay the Initial Consultation fee. 3) Initial Evaluation interview, including completion of various diagnostic psychological tests. Before the scheduled Initial Evaluation, I recommend completing a couple of psychological tests accessible through my “Patient Portal.” 4) Prescription of medications to alleviate or mitigate presented symptomatology. 5) Throughout treatment, we continue ongoing inquiry into past significant psychological-emotional events. 6) I firmly believe, and my practice has proven, that a person’s sufferings and symptoms never come from nowhere; they can always be traced back to past life events. 7) There is always a psychological root for a person’s current psychological sufferings, symptoms, and problems. 8) As this process unfolds, the patient should learn to understand the connection between past and present psychological problems, manage and overcome them, and work toward a positive, functional, balanced life. 9) Medication interventions are not a cure; they should be prescribed in a measured manner and ideally not permanently. 10) There must be an initial period of proactive trial until the best medication or combination is found for each person. In my experience, I have never found the same medications and dosages helpful to all patients with similar symptomatology. I completed my medical education at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia Facultad de Medicina Alberto Hurtado. I completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Saint Luke's Hospital and a residency in Psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
