About Dr. Vijay Sharma
Dr. Sharma is Board Certified in Internal Medicine (Adult Medicine) since 1995. He has been practicing Internal Medicine and Primary Care Medicine since then.
Dr. Sharma attended Government Medical College Amritsar in India, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1981. He practiced as a Primary Care Physician for five years in India before continuing his career in the United States. In 1992, Dr. Sharma completed one year of internship in Pediatrics at Methodist Hospital, affiliated with SUNY University in New York. He then completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital Center, affiliated with Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York, in 1995. He practiced Primary Care and Internal Medicine for four years in upstate New York before moving to Texas in 1999.
Dr. Sharma is a dedicated physician who pays keen attention to his patients' everyday needs. He has been practicing in the Dallas area as an Internist since then, where he has built very strong professional relationships with his patients. Most of his patient referrals come from his existing patients. He works very closely with his physician assistant, Harneet Kaur, to provide the best possible care to his patients.
