Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
FL
Hello, my name is Wendylee Flowers, And I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I fully believe mental health is just as important as your physical health and I’m passionate about ending the stigma associated with mental illness. My approach I provide psychiatric evaluation, psychoeducation, and medication management. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice, which helps to show how thoughts and internal beliefs can affect how you feel about yourself and others. I utilize a holistic approach to treatment because our thoughts and behavior affect our physical well-being as well. My focus I offer telehealth services to adults. I specialize in the evaluation and treatment of women’s mental health, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, coping skills, and trauma-focused care. My communication style I believe that mental wellness is a journey that is unique to each individual, and there is no one-size-fits-all to treatment. The goal is to feel respected and in an environment where you are more than just a number. My journey to mental healthcare I have been a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for over a year now and a registered nurse for 19 years. I have had the privilege of working in a variety of critical care settings, providing direct patient care, including cardiovascular ICU, trauma ICU, and post-anesthesia recovery care unit. I have seen firsthand how mental health can have a direct impact on recovery outcomes. My goals for you Patients should be empowered through education and information to be a part of the decision-making when it comes to setting goals for their treatment plan. My first session with you During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that is holistic and effective.
